Bracket size and byes calculator
Knockout brackets come in sizes of 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 and so on. If your entries do not fit, the gap is filled with byes.
How byes work
The bracket size is the next power of two at or above your number of players. The difference is the number of byes. Byes go to the top seeds, so the strongest players skip the first round, and the bye positions are spread so that each part of the draw has its fair share. If you have 11 players, the bracket has 16 slots and 5 byes, and seeds 1 to 5 skip round one.
