How to use the result

Fixed costs do not change with the number of players: hall, tables, officials, insurance and printing. Per-player costs rise with entries. Each extra entry contributes the fee minus the per-player cost until you cover the fixed costs; after that it is surplus. If your break-even number is more than about 70% of your expected players, raise the fee or cut costs, because a few no-shows will put you in the red. See the budget guide.
