General information only

This site gives general guidance for people organizing table tennis tournaments. It is not an official publication of the ITTF or any national or regional association.

Rules

Our rules summary and cheat sheet paraphrase the Laws of Table Tennis. In any difference between this site and the official text or your governing body’s regulations, the official text wins. Regulation items such as time-outs, coaching and conduct penalties vary between competitions.

Legal, insurance and financial matters

Pages on insurance, liability, waivers, safeguarding, sanctioning and budgets are checklists of questions to ask, not advice. Requirements differ by country, state and venue. Consult your venue, your insurer, your governing body or a qualified professional.

Calculators

Calculators give estimates based on the inputs you enter and simple models. Real events vary. Allow a margin.

Equipment

We describe quality criteria and published specifications. We do not guarantee the suitability of any product. Some links to retailers may be affiliate links, for which we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you; these are labeled, and they do not change what we recommend.
